Archaeological
Heritage on the Edge of the Mediterranean World

The project will present several major innovative results important for the development of archaeology and archaeological methodology: modern definitions of cultural changes and transformations in Iron Age communities during the first millennium BCE in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and adjacent areas; updated definitions of artefact typology and prehistoric artistic styles; both relative and absolute chronology of the Iron Age; and modern interpretations of Celtic migrations in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the broader region. Finally, the project will evaluate the conceptual consistency of the applied concept of prehistoric cultures and propose a modern cultural and chronological definition of the Iron Age in Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
